Pardon the pun , we’ve been installing the signs for Tring’s new shiny On The Limit Gym. Next to the post office in Tring it boasts a whole array of brand new kit, including an array of funky looking spin cycles as well as a studio where fitness classes will be held.

It was a pleasure to work with Adam and Kathryn whose organised approach and clear vision made our job  a lot easier while providing them with a consistent brand identity across all their signage. In the words of Hannibal from The A Team I love it when a plan comes together!!

Well I’m pleased to report a great start to the year for us with loads going on. We have just completed assembling graphics kits for the whole UK fleet for Shanks. At one point we were going to be installing them too but I will admit I was quite relieved when it was decided to use local installers. A trip for two all the way to John O’ Groats for two vehicles was not my idea of fun!

Perrys approached us to come up with something a bit different for their vehicle display for garden centres in Wendover and Bicester. So we though we’d have a bit of fun.

One car, a black Clio we wrapped with a ribbon and bow, a Corsa we covered in ice blue snowflakes and for the 3rd, a Fiat 500 we came up with a particularly novel idea. Perrys removed the drivers door and persuaded a hapless member of staff to pose in the drivers seat dressed in a Santa costume.

We then took a photo and printed a graphic which we then wrapped onto the door when replaced. The result you can see below, it caused quite a stir at our unit while awaiting collection we hope it has a similar effect for Perrys.

Using MacTacs WW300 wall wrap material, Sign Wizzard have been making the view a little more interesting for travellers visiting Gate 10 at Gatwick’s South Terminal. Instead of looking at bland walls visitors can now see tantalising images of Europeans wonders such as the Colosseum, Leaning Tower of Pisa and The Eiffel Tower to mention but a few. We used roughly 100 metres of the material printed, in house, on our Roland Soljet, which will mould itself to rough surfaces including brickwork to provide a vibrant textured mural round the whole gate area.

The only snag was we had to work overnight to avoid the crowds and unfortunately forgot to take a camera to capture the result. Since none of us have plans to fly from gate 10 in the near future we are unlikely to be able to obtain any for quite a while.

So if you happen to be flying from Gatwick any time soon and see our handy-work, please do take a snap or two and send it to us, we would be very grateful.

Never let it be said that here at Sign Wizzard we’re adverse to the odd challenge here and there. Never more so than this summer when we assisted with a party for a Russian billionaire on his Super Yacht in Monaco. We were helping out with the rigging and lighting for Vanessa May and Snoop Dogg, the two acts he had commissioned for the party. More directly we also clear vinyl wrapped a 5 metre x 1.5 metre oval polished stainless steel table to protect it from damage while being used for a floral display. We also made up 200 personalised shoeboxes for the guests to put their shoes in when boarding, it seems that rule wasn’t bent no matter how much the guests were worth. The Yacht itself was stunning as you can see from the attached pictures. We weren’t allowed to take pictures on board so unfortunately I was unable to get a picture of the finished table, but the whole thing looked superb.

Despite the glamorous sounding setting it was extremely hard work and it took us a full 24 hours followed by an hours sleep then another 16 hours to load the 3 artic lorry loads of gear onto the yacht and another 16 hour shift to take it all off. Exhausting work but the party went well and everyone was pleased with the result.

From now until the end of July we are offering a 20% discount off our normal banner prices. To give you an idea below is a sample table of our normal rates, remember you can take 20% off these prices. So although we have to charge the dreaded VAT the discount will counteract it. The banners are tough, waterproof and UV resistant for 3 years.

These prices are for one off event banners so while they include brass eyelets for fixings they are unhemmed. That said, we know of people who’ve ordered these from us in the past and been using them every year! Also remember these are just a sample. We can make banners to any custom size to a maximum of 1300mm deep (that’s the width of our material), there is no restriction on length.

• Artwork: You can send us a picture to use to which we can then add text of your choice. The picture will need to be a minimum 3 megapixel image from a digital camera which you can then email to us. Alternatively you can find loads of suitable images and clip art at Istock. Click here for link. All you need to do is send us the catalogue number and we will download the file on your behalf. Typically these cost in the region of £12.00 each

• If you want us to use your logo you will need to send it to us in a size and format suitable to use on your chosen size of banner. If you have your logo in an illustrator format (ai or eps file) that would be best. Otherwise a jpg will do but it will need to be about 2MB in size as a rough guide. We will always let you know if the logo you provide is not going to look right for any reason.

• If you want additional text on your design let us know what it is and what font and colour you want us to use. If you choose one from the standard list that comes with Microsoft Word it should be fine.

• If you would like a proof to approve prior to production, a deposit will be required and one set of alterations is included in the price. Once approved the job will go into production. This can take from 3 to 5 days depending on how busy we are.
